I Suffer from Anxiety

I am 17 years old and i suffer from Anxiety and Depression. Sometimes it feels as if my life is going no where. Socializing is not an option. I isolate myself from all human existence. Sometimes it overtakes my life. I suffer from Anxiety and Depression

You question every move, worrying if something terrible will happen, your muscles tighten up like something catastrophic is about to happen, and your stomach begins a roller coaster ride. You have no energy to do anything, but you find just enough energy to stress and be upset. This is Anxiety. Depression is a disorder that can ruin a persons life if not given attention too. Your moods change very easily. You can be happy one second and the next you find yourself lonely, not wanting to do anything, go anywhere, or socialize with anyone.

For the past three years i have been researching my disorders. I have found that the more you learn about them, the more you come to understand them. When you learn to understand your disorders there a lot easier to deal with because you can relate with whats going on with your emotions and the way your body reacts to those emotions

Hi Shastinaray,

It's good to understand yourself, because once you do, you can begin to move forward. Have you read any of Paul McKenna's books? You might find some of them helpful for overcoming anxiety.

You are unfortunate to be suffering from depression at 17. Have you checked your health? Sometimes we have chemical inbalances which bring on depression, and a visit to a good gp can sort it out. Good luck. By the way Winston Chuchill suffered very badly from depression his whole life, yet managed to become very famous and accomplished quite a lot. Maybe he had chemical inbalance, but doctors knew nothing of brain chemistry back then.

I agree with earnesthub - do please have a through check-up. Sometimes nutritional imbalances and deficiencies contribute to the chemical imbalance in the brain. Yes, the more you understand them, the easier it is to deal with them. Start from te premise that it is a condition caused by imbalances - and it can be dealt with. God Bless :)
